In the 1950s, while developing real estate from his office in Polson, Montana, Harold Karlsgodt gave a secluded cove on Flathead Lake a name inspired by his ancestral homeland: Karlsgodt Fjords. With steep cliffs rising straight from the water, the place reminded him of the dramatic fjords of Norway.

But the Fjords became more than a place. They became a feeling.

Maybe it comes from a full day of hiking, swimming, snorkeling, climbing, paddling, water skiing, fishing—or doing absolutely nothing on the dock.
